What a Weekend Will Do...

Feeling haggard, a bit worn thin from the daily efforts into our Stores, it was beyond time for my business partner, my lovely bride, and I to bail for the weekend. Get out before burn out...overstated, but you get the picture...we needed a break!

Being within close proximity to a border, we decided to take the drive and enjoy a weekend of cultural immersion...so we did. A hotel along the sea, dinners, walking about, markets...all the R&R things we all like when we escape. Felt great, mission accomplished and arrived back home late afternoon Sunday. Dropped the bags in the bedroom, then checked in with our Store(s) status...15 open questions, 40+ items to ship...it was beginning to look a lot like Xmas, so the jingle goes.

OK...we're in...and five hours later, all finished and ready for slumber.

Good news my fellow Sellers...your online Stores...our eBay, Etsy and Bonanza Stores keep working while we don't. Nice to know that you can take a short break, or just go to sleep each evening, and while you're "away" you keep marketing, promoting, selling your products. Take a break when needed...it brings forth all kinds of "benefits".

Five Star Feedback!

One of the things I enjoy most about our business is the feedback we get after our clients receive their items. The pleasure of buying an item for yourself, or a close friend or family member, is uplifting and a boost to your day. And I learned that it's not the cost of any particular purchase, but whether or not there is perceived value in the eyes of your customer.

All business depend upon the positive reaction to their products and services, and via our eBay, Etsy and Bonanza Stores, there are very quantitative measures of your business performance. For eBay, it's a measurement of Detailed Seller Ratings, a 5 Star Rating system that requires no more than 3 ratings of a 1 or 2 to maintain your Top Rated Seller status. It measures "detailed description", "communication", "shipping time" and "shipping and handling charges". And finally, it measures a percentage of "positive feedback" ratings.

I'm pleased that we rate so very high in all of these categories and that we have achieved a Top Rated Seller status on our eBay Store. But as I step away from the numbers, our greatest achievements come from the words expressed by customers when they get their items. Words like:

"awesome, wonderful, beautiful, fast shipping, my daughter loves it, nicer than imagined..."

We've received thousands of such words. Best of all..."thank you"...hard to top that.
